Why can't Black men forgive women for cheating?
Yes, we're getting into it right off the bat. The reason #LawrenceHive on Twitter really makes my balls itch is because for all the real-world and fictional examples we have of women forgiving men and taking them back after they've cheated, men just cannot find it within themselves to even consider doing the same. That thought process works my nerves like no other. And it makes me harp on Lawrence's flaws much more than I would have, had they not gone so hard. Honestly, neither Lawrence nor Issa have clean hands in the demise of their relationship. But the fact that men are trying to portray him as some of saint and her as a deplorable, makes me sick. All of this reminds me of a tweet and response I saw not too long ago. This man argued that a woman cheating on a man hurts 10x more than when men cheat on women. And someone promptly and accurately responded: No, it doesn't. Y'all just don't take women's emotions seriously. Facts. Issa was dead wrong but watching the way men---the very same men who've actively advocated that women give men "a pass" when they cheat-- want her to suffer when they've never called for that from their own is infuriating. via GIPHYHow would you have reacted to those kids stealing the snacks?
Y'all. I know this was not in any way central to the plot of the story. But kids being ungrateful and rude is one of my all-time pet peeves. And that scene had me feeling a way. I couldn't believe Issa and her coworker let that happen. Sure, they couldn't stop the kids but I at least would have chased them as far as I could, trying to get my snacks back. Unacceptable. via GIPHYIs Molly going to get her money?
You know she puts in work. We can assume, from Travis' behavior at the company function that she's more skilled than her White, male coworker and she's been there longer than he has. Still, she's not being compensated for what she's worth. So foul and yet, such a real example of what's happening out here in the world. I'm really interested to see how she handles this.

Am I the only one happy to be seeing and hearing more from Chad?
For those who don't know the character by name, Chad, played by Neil Brown Jr., is Lawrence's friend, the one he's letting use his air mattress while he figures out his situation. Chad has been funny but I like that he's also the voice of sound reason for Lawrence. It's Chad who brings to Lawrence's attention that he might not be doing entirely right by Tasha, screwing her all weekend long but refusing to take her out on a date.
Did Lawrence ask Tasha to split the appetizer with him?
To be fair, there's nothing wrong with going Dutch on a few dates. I don't always think it's fair for the entire financial burden to fall on a man's shoulders, particularly when he doesn't know you all that well. But(!), considering the fact that Lawrence spends all of his weekends, being sheltered at Tasha's house, probably drinking her juice, emptying her fridge and entering her orifices, I'd say he could spring for a full meal, entree and appetizer included. Lawrence pre-breakup probably couldn't have made it happen; but, according to last season, he has a decent job now. And since he's not paying rent, it really is the least he could do. via GIPHYDo you have any sympathy for Tasha?
Tasha is such the innocent bystander in all of this. I don't like her. As one of my associates put it, she's corny. (Seriously, Zaddy is only ever acceptable as a joke.) But I can't help but cringe when I think about the possible pain that's coming her way. While Lawrence thinks they're both just kicking it, the look of hope and expectation in her eyes as she invited Lawrence somewhere, during the week, just shows that she's expecting more. And, the way things stand right now, I doubt she's going to get it.
Are we going to see more Bloods?
Between "bonnect" and "B*tch, I got kids too. Turn up!" I'm sold. via GIPHYWhat was that last scene about?
Disgusted. That's how I felt when Lawrence came over, gave Issa a measly 7 pumps, washed up and then gave her a peck before announcing he had to go. I know, based on Issa's smile that it represented a ray of hope for her. But to me, it just seemed like utter disrespect. Especially, considering the fact that in all of that speed and aggression, I doubt there was time to put a condom on...and we know he's sleeping with another woman. Not to mention that he knows Issa still loves and wants to be with him. It's just cruel and callous to play with her emotions like this. I hear hate sex is a thing but watching it on tv felt like such a violation. There was someone on Twitter who argued that Lawrence left in such a hurry because he realized he had done something wrong. I hope that was part of it. But I also believe that was just his way of skipping out on having a real conversation...again. He has to do better.
Do y'all want Issa and Lawrence to be together?
I will continue to say this until the people feel me. I have been arguing since season 1 that Lawrence and Issa just don't need to be together. We're in this mess that we're in now because Issa, supremely dissatisfied in her relationship, kept holding on instead of breaking it off. If she had dumped Lawrence, she could have smashed Daniel guilt-free and maybe even gotten into a relationship with him. (Though I learned she didn't really want him either when she referred to him as merely an itch she needed to scratch.) Even if she discovered that Daniel wasn't what she wanted, it would have been much easier to get Lawrence back saying she made a mistake in leaving, rather than having to confess to sleeping with another man. But really, I digress. I think Issa is imagining how good things could be with Lawrence because she did him so dirty and ended up being dismissed because of it. It's one thing to leave but it's an entirely different feeling to be dismissed. And of course, there's history and love there. But I honestly believe, if they got back together, things wouldn't be all that rosy. Still, watching all of this play out is what makes for one helluva show. The post 9 Questions We Have After Watching “Insecure’s” Season 2 Premiere appeared first on MadameNoire.
