It was a year ago, almost to the date, that we found out Jessica Williams would be leaving her position at The Daily Show. At the time, rumor was the youngest correspondent to ever join the show would be working on her own scripted series for Comedy Central, but as it turns out Williams is slated to star in her own Netflix movie this summer, The Incredible Jessica James.
According to Empireonline:
“Jessica James is a look at modern life and love through the lens of its main character, an aspiring playwright working odd jobs to make ends meet. Recovering from a recent break-up and thoroughly discouraged by the world of Tinder, she finds an odd connection with the recently divorced Boone (Chris O’Dowd), and navigates through the tough times.”
The teaser Netflix just released of the series gives us a taste of what looks to be a cute, quirky, fun comedy. Check out the video and tell us if you’ll be watching when it drops July 28.
